Construction delivery startup can’t deliver building materials in some cities during COVID-19, but can deliver food.
Montreal, Quebec - April 6th, 2020 - RenoRun, North America’s leading technology-enabled construction material delivery service, partners with GoodFood (TSX:FOOD), Canada’s leading online grocery company to deliver weekly meals to hundreds of Canadians.
Partnering in Montreal and Toronto, RenoRun is opting to deliver food while their 2-hour delivery service of building materials to remodellers and contractors is suspended. Daniel Schacter, COO at RenoRun, explains:
“In light of recent events, food delivery, especially to those with mobility difficulties, has become critical; while we may not be able to deliver to closed construction sites, we can still make a difference for the better in the community by putting our fleet to work in grocery delivery.”
GoodFood was an obvious partner for RenoRun as both companies are technology-enabled startups founded and headquartered in Montreal.
The company currently has 6 volunteer drivers working 5 days a week with GoodFood delivering hundreds of meals a day. RenoRun’s CEO, Eamonn O’Rourke reminds us that delivery drivers are today’s heroes, “We couldn’t be prouder of our team of drivers. They are operating safely, swiftly and with purpose throughout this pandemic.” RenoRun has temporarily increased driver wages by $2 per hour during the pandemic.
RenoRun raised $22.5 million in Series A funding in November, 2019. The company’s delivery service is currently suspended in Canada during COVID-19 and taking this time to enhance its operations and application’s customer experience for a strong return.
